Balance Shaft for Rotax Racing Engines. These balance vibrations within the crankcase during operation of the engine.

The balance shaft has a counter-balanced weight within the middle, and a pinion on the end that fits into a bearing in the crankcase. On the opposite, a gear meshes with the main gear case gears to spin the counter-balanced weight.
