Overview
Manufactured by IKP, these brake pads are an excellent choice for replacing worn out or damaged brake pads on your Tony Kart chassis. Point Karting is proud to supply racers with pads for a variety of OTK brake systems. Like any karting brand, Tony Kart has updated their brake system several times over the decades:
    • The BS2 System: This system was implemented as a new era in Tony Kart Calipers, and is found on karts of early 2000's to Pre-2003 era. *Note how this caliper has only one retainer pin, while earlier and models to follow often have 2 until much later in development.
    • Late 1990s, Early 2000's: While extremely rare, this brake system was a dual-caliper, gold-anodized brake caliper/system. Examples of chassis that this system was popular on include the Esprit.

Each pad option is sold as a pair of (2) brake pads, since a brake caliper requires that both pads are replaced at the same time for proper function.

Selecting the Right Brake Pad Compound

Point Karting has "Red Carbon" and "Galfer 1054" pad options for Tony Kart. Depending on your braking preference, select the pad option that's right for you:

  • Red Carbon: Suitable for most drivers, the Red Carbon pads provide a progressive yet strong braking feel across a variety of brake rotors and driving styles. This is the closest equivalent to the compound utilized in OEM Tony Kart Brake Pads.
  • Galfer 1054 Black: For those who want a very aggressive braking feel, the 1054 black is the choice! Made from an organic-based medium, the Galfer 1054 is a softer pad. This means increased pad wear, but also increased stopping power and immediacy to the braking system under hard braking. Trust the 1054 if you are someone who really likes to stand on the brakes hard into corners!

Ideal For: Tony Kart rear brake caliper [late 90's, early 2000's]
Ideal For: Tony Kart BS2 brake caliper [vintage system]
